PLEASE NOTE: THIS ELEMENT IS CONSIDERABLY LONGER THAN THE OE UNIT. THE PROBE WILL EXTEND ALL THE WAY INTO THE CAVITIY UNTIL IT TOUCHES THE INSIDE (BETWEEN 4.75" AND 5" DEEP). THIS IS BY DESIGN.

CAT 3208 Installation Information: Replaces 3/4" pipe plug on Front of engine.
Detroit Diesel Silver Series (6V-92, 8V-92), 12V-71, 16V-71, 12V-92, 16V-92, GMC General (with 92 Series engine) (Alternate installation) Installation Information: Replaces 3/4" pipe plug in oil cooler elbow on right side of engine. Check engine carefully – 3/4" pipe plug not available on all engines.
