Two-Piece Wheel Seal Design Protects Against Contamination

Designed to reduce maintenance and prevent unnecessary wear on expensive spindles, the Grit Guard^®two-piece hub seal design provides effective and lasting protection against contamination.

A two-piece design, the Grit Guard^® wheel seal features a spindle-installed deflector ring. This provides dirt exclusion for extended seal performance and insures a new surface for the sealing lip. The deflector ring can often repair a damaged or worn spindle shoulder.

The hub-installed metal case seal provides a metal-to-metal continuous press fit between the seal and hub. In addition, a blue coating is applied to the seal to prevent minor seepage between the seal and hub.

Survive Severe Duty And Temperature Applications

Grit Guard^®'s Elasto-Leather sealing lip provides an excellent temperature range from -65ºF to +250ºF remaining flexible and durable. Also, the lip rotates on the deflector ring for improved heat dissipation and less lip travel per wheel rotation.

Grit Guard^® is available for the rugged, severe duty applications that other wheel seals are not available for.

* Will not fit on Freightliner with Wagner Anti-Skid or Motorola 22-14670-14 Electronic Speedometers. Use 310-1111 standard axle ring with 320-2106 oil seal.
Notes: Special note for Dodge, Freightliner, Kenworth, & Peterbilt using this set on Eaton axles with Meritor hubs or wheels: Eaton 18 series single or 38D tandem with 4.375 spindle shoulder require shoulder bushing 364-6402 to be installed before axle ring. Eaton 19 series single or 44D tandem with 4.5 spindle shoulder require shoulder bushing 364-6435 to be installed before axle ring. Shoulder bushings & axle rings must be installed flush with the spindle shoulder face. Shoulder bushings are not part of set & must be ordered separately. If axle has factory installed shoulder bushing, leave it in place & reuse if not damaged.Shoulder bushings are not required on Eaton axles if shoulder is already machined to the diameter for the 315-1525 axle ring. For wheel ends using 681A inner bearing refer to 392-9087 set. Hub cap 340-4119 & gasket 330-3090 available for tag & pusher use. This set fits ABS Systems.
